The ASEAN International Film Festival And Awards furthers the art and craft of ASEAN filmmaking by inspiring and championing the work of screenwriters, filmmakers and all artistes who use the language of film to tell a story.

Our films help promote our culture, tradition and heritage towards united ASEAN.

AIFFA is a platform to promote ASEAN films to the international market. We facilitate collaborations and networking within the ASEAN film industry and provide business opportunities for film distributors and exihibitors (Meetings, Incentives, Conferencing, Exhibitions).

Another objective of AIFFA is to attract tourism and filmakers to Malaysia.

Film Pitch

Uniting media producers and financiers to advance creative development in ASEAN
Home / Film Pitch

AIFFA will continue to present amazing opportunities for filmmakers to promote their films to the international market, and facilitate collaborations and networking within the ASEAN film industry.

This year, AIFFA is pleased to announce a collaboration with Southeast Asian Audio-Visual Association (SAAVA) for a one-day speed pitching platform for writers, directors and producers to meet with regional film investors. The platform allows filmmakers direct access to funders and financing. In addition, filmmakers will gain direct insights into how the film business works in ASEAN and internationally.

This session will include discussions by producers on the intricacies of international and regional co-production work and on ways to create meaningful relationships between film professionals across ASEAN.

While AIFFA will seek out filmmakers for this session, SAAVA will bring in their contingent of financiers. This speed pitching is also open to both seasoned and first-time writers / directors / producers.

Filmmakers keen to join in the pitching session will have a better chance of being picked and followed up by financiers if they can come up with feature film projects with high-concepts such as science-fiction, horror, action, and thrillers.

REQUIREMENTS:

Filmmakers should prepare a deck with the idea of story, a budget, and other visual material that will help financiers understand the project. All pitches will be done in English. Each pitch session will be 15 minutes - interested financiers will follow up with the projects they are interested in working with on a separate basis so it is important for participants to leave a good impression.

WHERE/WHEN:

  1. May 5, 6 2017 -- Conference/Discussion (AM) and Pitching (PM)
  2. Pullman Hotel, Kuching, Seminar Rooms.

SUBMISSIONS

Filmmakers are to send in their expressions of interest via email to info@aiffa2017.com and cc copied to Adelina Iskandar at adelina.iskandar@gmail.com . Appointment time will be given after email is received. Kindly prepare requirements before the appointment.
