It will speed up income growth and reduce income gaps. The youth, for example, must be encouraged to pursue their creative passion. Today digitizing their creative passion means an income for them and a growth for the creative GDP.” YB Datuk Lee Kim Shin said in his speech.
YB Datuk Lee Kim Shin also pointed out that ASEAN remains a fantastic place of creativity. Blessed with natural heritage in the region, it has also become the source of inspiration for filmmakers all over the world. All the 10 countries of ASEAN including Sarawak, in Malaysia are natural studios that will enhance ASEAN’s filmmakers creativity and storytelling prowess. YB Datuk Lee Kim Shin further remarked, “AIFFA 2017 Kuching is your vehicle to reach the world. There is a film business pitching session organized for you to pitch ideas for your production. Also, AIFFA 2017 is planning to break the Guinness World Record for the largest crowd in cat costumes in Kuching. There will also be Café Film Talks and the much awaited Gala Awards Nite”. Festival Director, Livan Tajang said, “AIFFA 2017 promises even more exciting activities for everyone. International, ASEAN and Malaysian delegates and film enthusiasts will enjoy the educational Café Crawl, the 3-day film screenings at selected cinemas and the world record attempt during the opening night at the Kuching Amphitheatre, Taman Budaya. The AIFFA Biz World for networking business sessions and exhibitions will benefit many ASEAN business communities and film enthusiasts.
